Recently, Jennifer Kirchoff of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Belfast presented checks from donations as well as a fundraiser totaling $2,279.43 to John Arrison, treasurer of the Greater Bay Area Ministerium’s Interfaith Fuel Fund. The Ministerium is an association of leaders of a dozen faith communities and churches in the greater Belfast area. Their fuel fund provides grants to purchase fuel for those in need who have applied for assistance.
Kirchoff is co chair of a UU Belfast committee that puts together the annual Solstice Celebration that happens in December at The Blue Goose in Northport. The celebration features live music, canada goose sale

Additionally, the UU Church of Belfast sponsors a shared plate program, giving a percentage of it’s Sunday morning offerings to a local charity each month. December’s plate share benefitted the Interfaith Fuel Fund as well.
The IFF typically awards about 40 grants of 100 gallons of heating fuel per year to those in need.
Donations to the IFF are always welcome and one can donate by sending a check made out to Interfaith Fuel Fund, Belfast United Methodist Church, 23 Mill Lane, Belfast, ME 04915. To receive a tax deduction for their donation, one can also give through one of the Ministerium churches.
